From the President

May 2013

When will the rain quit? This has not been a good summer for top down cruising due to the record rains in our area. Georgia has already received its normal annual rain fall and there are over four months left in the year. I have thought about pontoons for my Allanté, but I don’t want to get back in the boat business right now. I know Mother Nature has a way of balancing things, so maybe we will have a nice dry Fall to enjoy and show off our cars.

Speaking of showing off our cars, I want to urge everyone to participate in local car shows and cruise-ins to show what beautiful automobiles the Allantés are. I have taken mine to Canton’s First Friday show several times. This event is held every month on the first Friday evening from 5:00 to 9:00 in the downtown square. There are many of these type events if you look around. Club members, Gary & Elizabeth Schubert sent me a note that they were attending The Cool Cars for Christ put on by Peachtree Presbyterian Church, September 14th in Buckhead. I plan on joining them if possible to get more Allanté exposure.

When you attend a show or cruise- in, take a picture and send it to Russell & Paula to show in our newsletter along with a note about the event. Fall is a good time to enjoy these shows with the temperature being more pleasant plus there is a greater choice of events.

Remember to keep those Allante’ calendars handy, as Paula has a great line-up of activities for our club.

You don’t want to miss the tour of historic Oakland Cemetery and lunch at the incomparable Mary Mac’s in September. Our October trip to the Blue Ridge parkway promises to be a spectacular drive with the winding roads, mountains and Fall colors. Your participation is what makes our club great.

Looking forward to see you all soon.
