Annual Fall Cruise
FRI, SAT & SUN, OCT 19-21
Little Switzerland & Diamond Back Speedway

Hello Everyone!

Are you ready for those beautiful, crisp fall temperatures and the glorious colors of Fall? When it seems Linda herself has taken hold of a palette, and painted the nature, with the leaves turning in every possible hues of red, yellow, purple, black, orange, pink, magenta, blue and brown.

Then get your Allante' ready! It's time for some fun driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway and the world-famous Diamondback Motorcyle and Sportscar Route!

Our rally point on Friday, October 19th is at the McDonalds at 4358 Buford Drive NE, Buford, 30518. The McDonalds is on your right before you get to I-985. We will meet at 8:00 am and depart McDonalds at 8:30 am. Enough time for coffee (and Cheese/Sausage Biscuits for the brave and iron stomached). Then we'll head out for our drive to a lunch stop in Waynesville, NC. Of course we will have rest/pit stops along the way before reaching beautiful downtown Waynesville. The largest town in Haywood County and the largest in western North Carolina west of Asheville

Our lunch stop at 11:30/12 noon will be at Bogart's Restaurant and Tavern, 3035 South Main Street, Waynesville, NC (828-452-1313). The reservation is under Allante Atlanta Car Club. We will be seated upstairs; as our reputation preceeds us. We have a reservation for 11 people at the moment. If Rod/Linda Moore, John/Beth Nash and Larry/Sari Johnston wish to meet us there for lunch, please let Paula know ASAP. We welcome you and understand many are traveling in from different directions. Paula will reconfirm numbers on Thursday October 18 with the restaurant. Surely reminding them we can't drink and drive and it's OK to consider allowing us "in public".

Now for the fun driving we will experience: if you do not join us for lunch, please meet us at the Folk Art Center, Blue Ridge Parkway milepost 382, around 2:30 pm. The ladies will be shopping there under the guise of a rest stop before we continue our drive on to Little Switzerland and the Switzerland Inn. We are hopful to arrive (this should allow plenty of time for photo stops and traffic) no later than 4:00 pm knowing some will require R&R before Norman unpack's his "barlongings". .

The AACC hospitality bar will be set up between 5-5:30 pm with dinner reservations in the Chalet restaurant at 7:00 pm. The club will be ordering from the menu this year as their wonderful buffet was discontinued due to rising costs.

Our itinerary for Saturday and options for exploring the area will be provided Friday afternoon before beverages are served for safety sake.

After dinner, we can visit the fire pit to gaze at the stars, enjoy the beauty of the evening and tell stories and lies of travels, events or other fun times we've each shared. The Italian Fall Festival attendees will surely regale us with their stories from Italy! While we can only warn you about the Irish and anything Boyland might add. Up the long ladder and down the short rope....

Saturday, October 20th will start at 8:00 am (ish) for breakfast with the Diamondback Drive at 10:30 am. Again make sure your brakes, tires and fluids in your Allante' are good. We don't want casualities.

The folks from Atlanta area and Florida will meet at the McDonalds on Buford Drive and the rest of the gang it is presumed will meet either at milestone 382 on the BRP or at the Switzerland Inn. But please confirm your plans with Paula ahead of time so she doesn't worry.

We are all looking forward to see you on Friday the 19th for a fun weekend in the mountains of Western North Carolina!! Call Paula, Linda/Norman if you have any questions.
