Coleman & Darlene Armstrong

Our Allantes’ name is Sweet-T. Coleman loves her because she’s a sassy, mean, polo green machine with fine lines! Darlene loves her because the rag top folds back, the sun and wind come in, soothing away worries and stress. (Also, Sweetie promised not to get a motorcycle if they got a convertible!)

Coleman works for a contractor at TVA nuclear plant. He retired from TVA, not work, in 1997 and just can’t stay away from them. Darlene is working as financial secretary/bookkeeper for a church. They live north of Chattanooga in a small community on a handful of country acres.

They have 3 sons and DILs, 7 World’s Finest Grandchildren, 2 dogs, 1 cat, 4 Rhode Island Red hens, and “a partridge in a pear tree!” Sweetie enjoys tending the grape and red Muscatine vines, blueberry bushes, and a few other fruit trees. Darlene enjoys writing on her “diary book,” (hoping for publication someday) loving all their animals, being an herbalist, and spoiling “Sweetie” with whatever way she can. They’ve been married just over 22 years.

They are part of a gospel singing group where Sweetie sings bass, Momma sings tenor, and “two little brothers join right in there...” They’re on the praise/worship team at their church and Darlene plays piano as needed.

They enjoy traveling, exploring new places, returning to old favorite places and the Allante Atlanta Car Club has great folks with whom to do outing therapy! We joined this fine Allante group about 8 years ago and continue to enjoy the road-trip events and fine dining!
